I read an article in Scientific American about that. Does it give you any advantages in life?
Almost exactly what SomethingClever said -- I'm terrible with names/faces, but often I'll remember that their name started with blue and narrow it down enough to go on. This synesthesia is pretty weak for me, though; only the vowels and maybe 1/3 of the consonants have strong associations.

Musical keys, OTOH, dominate my life. Very few people can identify them without a reference in the first place, but most of them are synesthetic, and I'm definitely among the worst-stricken. I'd say it drove me crazy if it wasn't for the fact that (1) I'm already crazy in general (2) the moments of manic pleasure outweigh my girlfriend's car's burnt-orange F# horn.

To make a poker-related comment: Vegas does actually drive me crazy. All those glossy blue C-major arpeggios, over & over & over...
