Narrative:
On 10-28-2003 at 1456 hours I responded to the North Building Loading Dock in response to a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival I spoke with Mr. Knight. He states that he was backing out of the loading dock he stopped at the stop sign to look for any on coming vehicle's. (sic) He was at a stopped position when Mr. Berg struck the rear of the truck. When he exited the truck Mr. Berg stated that his name is Richard Berg and I'm in a rush. Mr. Berg stated that he does (sic) not have time to wait for a police officer. Mr. Knight stated that Mr. Berg drove off. When Mr. Berg was driving off Mr. Knight was able to get his license plate number "HORNPLYR". When Mr. Berg is located I will issues (sic) him a State Citation for Hit And Run.

Suspect: James Richard Berg, DL# 21379155 (this is wrong?! see HitAndRunInformation), Vehicle information: Year: 1996, Make: Volkswagon, Model: Passat, VIN #WVWHG83A9TE24202, Plate, HORNPLYR, North Carolina Registration

On 10-29-2003 I called Mr. Berg at his house to inform him that he was being charged with Hit and Run at the LSRC loading dock. Mr. Berg met with me at Duke Police Department to receive his State Citation. Upon his arrival I explained to Mr. Berg why he's getting the Citation and where to appear. I asked Mr. Berg if he wanted to file a motor collision report, he responded "I don't have time right now and I'll get around to it soon or later". (this is equally false as Knight's bogus story; I had nothing to do until 7pm that night)
