AviSynth is a scripting language for performing simple (and not-so-simple!) manipulations on digital video. It was begun by Ben Rudiak-Gould in 2000 and is currently maintained by myself and a loose but dedicated team of developers via SourceForge.

We have a C2:WikiWiki of our own at Avisynth.org from which you can browse the AviSynth:FAQ, AviSynth:Manual, and so on.

I'll readily admit I'm not the most active coder, so why am I still listed as the project leader? Good question, but it comes down to the fact that when I do have an especially good (quatriannual?) bout of productivity, I tend to think big. A lot of people recognize AviSynth for the incredible foundation that it is, but nobody knows where it's going; even if the ambitious ideas being fleshed out by Poptones and myself aren't the ones that catch hold, I'll be happy to know I was a catalyst.
